At the end of the 2018 race season we add an Oval track to our off road track. The track is 85 feet long by 50 feet wide with 12 foot straight and 13 foot low banked corners. We raced on Saturday Night and had a blast! Below are some photos of last season and the classes and rule package for 2019. 


In 2019 we will have a summer series consisting of 5 races with one throw out. And host weekly club races throughout the summer.

2019 OVAL RULES

General Rules Race Days

● Track is closed until race director opens up practice. 

● Track is closed to practice in between rounds.

● If you practice a pack you need to marshal. 

● We run an open practice, for that to work all must help and take turns. 

● No more than 10 cars on the track during practice

● Turn marshals should not work on or repair cars during a race.

● Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over.  DO NOT ENTER TRACK TO GET IT UNTIL RACE IS DONE.

● All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race. 

● All cars will be made available for tech inspection before and after race if required by the race director. 

● All racers must have a personal transponder.

● All RC4 transponder will work, AMB TRANSPONDER WILL NOT WORK.

● No smoking or Vaping on track or Driverstand

● No leaning over driver stand rail while driving

● No use of Alcohol or legal/illegal drugs while racing.

● Fighting or arguments will lead to removal from race and property. 

● Please sign up and pay with race director before 30 min to start of race program

● Once racing starts no refunds will be giving.

● By racing you accept full responsibility for your personal being and equipment. You cannot hold Thunder Road Hobbies liable for personal injuries and or loss of equipment. 

Race directors will have ultimate authority over rules enforcement. The primary basis for any rules decision must be based on what will be best for the majority of racers. If an item is not addressed in the rules listed here then you should assume it is not legal.

  

CLASSES

● All classes are 1/10 scale 2wd unless noted otherwise

● Street Stock 21.5T Blinky 

● SC MODIFIED 13.5T Blinky 

● OPEN SC MODIFIED 

● LATE MODEL MOD

● OUTLAW SPRINT

● MID WEST MODIFIED 17.5T BUGGY BASED Blinky

Four entries required for a class to run on race day. Additional classes may be added ie, kids, Traxxas, 1/8 at Race Directors choice.


CLASS RULES

Street Stock 21.5T Blinky

 ● Buggy based class. (B4,B5,B6,Losi type cars)
● 21.5T SENSORED Blinky ESC (NO BOOSTING ESC, NO KV MOTORS)

● No nonsensored KV motors after May 1St 2019
● 7.4 or 7.6 battery with max of 8.44 volts
● AKA Rebar stock foam
● Pro-line Hoosier stock foam

* Pro-line Slide Jobs can be ran until May 1st

● All 4 tires must be the same make and compound. (Proline Angle Blocks/Chain links are the same)

  

BODY:
● Must cover most of the wheels
● NO decking or cutting out windows
● Rear of body must run straight across rear of car. Rear fender to rear fender. No cutting rear of car out.

● Max of 1” spoiler may be added for stability to rear of body, no end caps

● Bodies must be, McCallister, Custom Works, MRKustoms street stock dirt style.

 

CHASSIS:
●Battery center line no offsetting battery.
● Factory and RPM parts are to be used for this class.
●Must remain stock pick up points for shocks turnbuckles. no adding holes or parts to move locations.
●No modifying parts.
●Parts must be off the shelf parts available to the public for purchase

● No adjustable rear arms 


SC MODIFIED 13.5T Blinky

● Factory production 2wd Short Course Truck (rear and mid motor) BUT NO ONE OFF SPECIAL MADE CHASSISES! For example no Murfdogg, BBE razor, GFRP/hyper drive, Plan B Gambler ect.

● Tires 

DE SC G6T and grooved G6T

Pro-line Hoosiers 

● No siping/grooving of tires allowed

● All 4 tire must be the same design and compound.

* Pro-line Slide Jobs can be ran until May 1st

CHASSIS:

 ●Battery center line no offsetting battery.
● Factory and RPM parts are to be used for this class.

ESC/MOTOR:

● No non sensored KV motors allowed after (May 1st 2019)

● 2S Lipo 7.4V or 7.6V max voltage 8.44V 

● Lipo Battery must be within 10 degree F temp of controlled battery (no heating of battery for performance)

● 6 or 7 cell NiMH 

BODY

Body Length, Width, and Height:

13" max body width

28" max length (bumper to spoiler)

7.5" max body height measured from bottom of chassis

Center deck:

1" max deck rake.

1" max center deck taper (widest point of the deck can only be 1" wider than the narrowest point of deck)

Spoiler:

1.5" max spoiler height

Spoiler end plate max 2” high off center deck and 3.25” long

Roof:

0.5" max roof rake measured from deck

Maximum Roof width 9"

Maximum Roof length 9"

No roof spoilers, a bend down at the trailing edge of the roof is allowed for strength

Roof side rails allowed but must have a scale appearance and be on both the left and right sides of the roof.

1/4" bend down at the leading edge of the roof allowed.

Roll cage/Roof Supports:

Roll cage/roof supports must be cut or formed to resemble a roll cage.  No solid panel roof supports. Window netting and rock guards are allowed.

Nose:

Nose sides can extend a max of 1/4” above the plane of the nose panel

Nose sides can extend a max of 1/4” above the plane of the hood panel

Nose cannot extend past the inner edges of the front wheels

Main nose panel must be a flat plane.  No concave or scooped noses allowed.

Rear wheel wells must be cut out to expose most of the rear wheel

Left and right windows and sails can be open as long as both sides are the same.

  

OPEN SC MODIFIED

Any Factory production 2wd Short Course Truck (rear and mid motor) or custom/purpose built race chassis

● Tires

 CHASSIS:

● PARTS MUST BE MADE FOR THAT TYPE CAR. No putting Losi parts on AE or B6 parts on B4. MADE FOR THAT SERIES OF CAR.
● Must remain stock pick up points for shocks turnbuckles. no adding holes or parts to move locations.
● No modifying parts.
● Parts must be off the shelf parts available to the public for purchase

● No adjustable rear arms
